ABOUT ME

Originally from Pennsilvania, USA, I have lived and performed in Germany for over 38 years. After attending Carnegie Mellon University (B.A. in Voice, B.A. in Education and M.A. in Opera Performance), I continued my education at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Austria and at the Hochschule für Musik in Hannover.
My first engagement at the Kammeroper in Vienna was followed by engagements in Hildesheim, Münster and Rudolstadt. I have sung over thirty roles on stages from Leipzig to Cairo and can be heard on several CDs.
In 1997, I joined the Ensemble of the Disney Production of “Beauty and the Beast” in Stuttgart, Germany, and where I sang the role of Mrs. Potts for 3 years.
I have been on the faculty of AIMS teaching the auditions training program, as well as being one of the voice teachers for the ensemble of “Beauty and the Beast” and later at “The Lion King” in Hamburg;  I have held master classes with Alma Thomas in Washington D.C. and New York City. In 1998, I co-founded the Neil Semer Vocal Institute; two intensive summer voice seminars for semi-professional and professional singers - where I was general manager and taught voice for 21 years. In 2018, I moved in a new direction and now offer two new courses: for chorus singers and for solo singers.
I live in Berlin, where my main studio is located and
also teach privately in Mannheim, Münster, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Kälberau, Vienna and Aarhus (Denmark). I also travel regularly throughout Europe to work with my professional students (and see them perform). In addition, I give workshops from Rostock to Heidelberg and from Dubai to Iceland.

Two roads diverged in a wood and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
